ORGANIZATIONS

The National Association of Christians in Special Education seeks to support and provide education for individuals with disabilities, disability service professionals and faith-based disability ministry efforts to individuals and families.

Joni and Friends International Disability Center    www.joniandfriends.org

Working through its local field offices JAF provides support and resources for local disability ministries.  JAF administers several other programs including an international wheel chair distribution (Wheel for the World) and the Christian Institute on Disability which seeks to engage in the political and cultural debates surrounding sanctity of life, euthanasia, stem cell research and other hot-button issue in the culture.

With Hope, The Amber Craig Memorial Foundation was born with the desire that as a community we can help our youth negotiate troubled times. With Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to suicide prevention through improving mental health support services and education in our schools and throughout our community. With Hope Foundation is committed to supporting our local schools’ efforts in suicide prevention through education. (from the website)

The Religion and Spirituality Division of the American Association of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities works to foster opportunities for spiritual growth for person with disabilities. (from the mission statement)

Royal Family Kids Camp                    www.rfkc.org

RFKC seeks to provide camps for abused children ages 7-11 throughout the United States by connecting with local congregations as well as ongoing advocacy, training and support.
Teen Leadership Foundation                 www.teenleadershipfoundation.org

Provides intensive three-day camp experiences to teenagers in the foster care system in conjunction with local churches and faith-based organizations.  TLF also seeks to provide ongoing support, training and scholarship opportunities for these young men and women.

Special Olympics of Southern California            www.sosc.org

Special Olympics offers athletic and social opportunities, as well as a means of support to athletes with disabilities throughout the country.

Through a network of topical channels, video feeds and blogs UrbanMinistry.org seeks to connect justice minded individuals with the information and resources they need in order to bring about positive changes in their communities.

Best Buddies International            www.bestbuddiescalifornia.org

Best Buddies partners individuals with disabilities with mentors in the community, with opportunities to mentor/buddy at most age levels (middle school through adult).  By working in local schools, college, business and civic organizations, Best Buddies seeks to bring about understanding and support through responsible relationships.
CHURCHES

Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton            www.evfreefullerton.com

EV Free Fullerton provides multiple services on Sundays as well as throughout the week.  Adults and Children with disabilities have a variety of service options including specialized classes and general education classes with 1:1 aides. EV Free is also actively ministering to foster youth through camps and mentoring as well as supporting an adoption outreach.

Rose Drive Friends Church (Yorba Linda, Ca)        www.rdf.org

Rose Drive is located in Yorba Linda, Ca and offers a variety of weekend service options.  Rose Drive actively works with local Christian Colleges and Universities in outreach efforts in the community and in Baja Mexico.   RDF is currently looking at ways to promote and support adoption and adoption families in its congregations

Rock Harbor Church (Costa Mesa, Ca)            www.rockharbor.org
